This series contains several thousand images, including black and white photographs, magazine and newspaper clippings, advertisements, and lithographs.  Subjects include a variety of dwelling structures; historic houses; building materials; bird basins, fountains and sculptures; drains; city monuments; parks; lawns; specimen trees, shrubs, and plants; stables; wells; and, window and roof gardens.  There are a variety of sizes, 3 X 5 to 9 X 14, and the prints are pasted onto cardboard and/or heavy paper.

Photographers include Warren H. Manning, Eleanor Manning, Harold Manning, Herbert E. Angell, F. W. Barclay, H. W. Blaney, H. E. Bullard, H. L. Flint, C. F. Gillette, R. B. Hough, S. P. Hurd, Negus (probably Samuel Pike Negus), A. L. Norton, C. H. Ramsdell, J. Fletcher Steele, A. D. Taylor, and others.
